Licence
Residents of Berlin need Berlin licence A, normally after passing the angler exam. Licence A: 5 years EUR 27 or 1 year EUR 18, plus fishing levy (2026: EUR 21 per year). Youth licence ages 12–17 without exam, 1 year EUR 10 + EUR 4 levy (needs club membership and water permit).
Visitors
Foreign guest anglers need proof of membership in a foreign angling organisation or a foreign fishing licence, plus a water permit (Angelkarte). Anglers from other German states use their own state licence.
Notes
Only the eel entry of LFischO Anlage 1 is confirmed from the official amendment text (GVBl. 2025 S. 551, Abgeordnetenhaus print vo19-294); the full table sits on the JS-only juris portal and is not reproduced. Anglers may land at most three fish of Aal and Zander per person per day (§18(5)). Licence vs permit: the Fischereischein is a personal, state-issued licence; the Fischereierlaubnis/Angelkarte is a separate permit sold by the owner or tenant of a specific water. You normally need both. Local waters (club/lease rules, Hegeplan, local orders) may be stricter; the conditions on your water permit always apply on top of state law.
