Privacy

We store no personal data about visitors and use no tracking or advertising cookies. Only if you order e-mail alerts do you give us an e-mail address – see the section below.

• Hosted on Cloudflare Workers, which processes technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
• Map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap when you open the map; your IP address is sent to that service.
• A language/activity preference may be stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never leaves your device.
• No ads, no analytics cookies.

E-mail alerts

• What we store: your e-mail address (encrypted with AES-GCM), the chosen language, your selection (gauge, river or bathing site and rule) and the times of sign-up, confirmation and last mail. No IP address, no name, no open or click tracking.
• Purpose and legal basis: sending the alerts you ordered, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), confirmed by double opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Retention: unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 72 hours. When you unsubscribe (link in every mail, also one-click unsubscribe in your mail app) we delete your address and selection immediately.
• Processors: Cloudflare, Inc. (sending via Cloudflare Email Service, storage in Cloudflare D1, bot protection with Cloudflare Turnstile when you submit the form). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• We send at most one mail per rule per 12 hours; alerts do not replace official flood or shipping warnings.
• Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and complaint to a data protection authority. Write to lena@riverglance.com.
